But first, a story...

Like many photographers, I fell under photography's hypnotic spell in the days when film still ruled, transfixed by the alchemy of a print as it appeared in the developer.

But I only seriously picked up a camera in high school, principally as a way to get out of class.  Hardly a noble motive to be sure, but I suppose people have done greater things for lesser ideals...

Who knew?

And so it is after all these years I still pick up my camera every day to get out, go places, meet people, and see things that I would never have the opportunity to any other way.

Freedom to come and go; to do as I please.

A get out of jail free card, if you will.

Just like cutting class...
